Sophie's had some real fun so far on our weekend trip to San Angelo. She and I are still a bit congested but we all got some good sleep! Friday night we played dress up with Hunna (my stepmom, Carol) and Sophie loved that! She got to wear a crown, a tiara, a shawl, some clickity-clack shoes and some bracelets. She loved the bracelets and wore those all night until bedtime. Sophie went to bed at 7:45 that evening and slept until 9:15 on Saturday. I would have let her sleep but thought she'd mess up her nap and all. So I woke her at 9:15. Gotta love San Angelo!
We then went to McDonald's to meet my grandmother, "Nanna", of which Sophie says, "Hi Nanna!". She absolutely loved the giant Ronald McDonald that sat on a bench in the play area. She just wanted to sit on his lap. She wasn't much into the play with the other kids. We stayed there and chatted a bit and then headed over to "Mr. T's" for lunch with Lara, Jeff, TJ and Mimi. Sophie was getting close to her naptime and so she got a bit fussy and overwhelmed. She only wanted mommy, daddy or T-Mac (my dad) to hold her.
Later on Saturday evening we had a big family dinner at my Dad's house--Carol, Nanna, Mimi, Lara, Jeff, TJ and Gran-Gran were all there. It was so much fun. Sophie and TJ made fast friends and they played while we all finished up dinner. The weather was amazing, it rained a lot and a cool front hit. So we spent some good time outdoors as well. Here are a few photos of TJ and Sophie playing in the bird bath outside. They were fascinated by the little metal frog in there Carol put for decoration. Later in the evening we asked TJ to give Sophie a hug. She was all bathed and in her PJs just out to say goodnight to everyone. TJ had to be bribed to put his arm around her and he made a scowl for the picture and Sophie surprisingly stared into the camera. They were cute.
Sunday we had another good night of sleep for Sophie. She went to bed at 8:15 and slept until 10am the next morning! Daddy had to wake her so we could get ready for church! Crazy. Anyway, we had fun sitting on Dad's front porch swing before church. She loves the chimes that swing in the breeze and hang above the swing.
She only slept one hour in the car so she was pretty wiped when we got home. She wanted to watch her baby signing time so we put it on while we unloaded the car. Cute stuff, I got this pic of her. It was a great weekend and we had fun. She's speaking in small sentences now and we can't wait to hear more of what she has to tell us every day!
